 Professor in the pediatric department, Jordan University of Science and  Technology, Irbid, Jordan. At the same time I worked as consultant in pediatrics/ hematology and oncology at Princess Rahma Teaching Hospital  which is the main teaching hospital in the area. After opening of KAUH, I worked as consultant paediatric hematology and oncology. I also covered the pediatric hematology and oncology service at Jordan University Hospital in Amman on part time basis until December 2003. For the last 16 years, I  managed a wide variety of cases including hematological malignancies, solid tumours, hemoglobinopathies, coagulation and immune deficiency diseases

       Medical director (Chief of Staff) at King abdullah University Hospital.
       This  is  a  large  teaching  hospital in the  north  of Jordan  (maximum 
       capacity  819  beds ).  Before  opening,   I  was  deeply  involved  in 
       preparation  and  drafting  of  all  hospital  policies  and   procedures 
       including infection control policy, waste  management policy, disaster
       plan, quality and risk  management  plans  as  well  as  other  general

       hospital policies. I also supervised the departmental clinical  planning
      committees which set the infrastructue and the opening plans   of   the
      different  departments. I was  responsible  for  the  functioning  of  the
      clinical  departments with  special  attention  to  quality  and efficiency
      of  clinical services  provided  in  the hopital. I  had  the  responsibility
      of enforcing the medical staff  rules and regulations and laised with the
      hospital general  manager  on  issues  of  medical  care,  teaching  and
      clinical research.

               Sep 2003 – Now

               Vice President, Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid –
               Jordan.   This is  a three years  post,  now I started my second  term. 
               Besides my  involvement in all university activities,  I was particularly
               incharge  of   the schools of medicine, science, nursing, dentistry and 
               pharmacy.  As  vice president,  I am  a  member  of  the deans  and
               university councils. I chaired  several academic and scientific committes.  


                Oct 2004- Now

                CEO,  King   Abdullah University  Hospital.   Besides  being   vice 
                president,  I became the  hospital CEO. During  which,   I  worked
                on   several    issues  including  strategic  and   marketing   planning, 
               development of human resources, increasing hospital competitiveness
               and utilization, a nd completion of  computerization.  During  the  last 
               two and  alf  years,  we  managed  to  increase  hospital  operational 
               beds  from 304  to  504 beds. We  put  great  emphasis  on   quality 
               improvement.  We  obtained  the  ISO 9001. We  participated  with
               other hospitals on national hospi tal accreditation system  (PHR Plus).
               Besides that we participated in king Abdullah the II award. We plan 
               to   go  for  Joint  Commission  International   Accreditation.  These
              activities will enhance the quality of services provided to patients&
              improve the hospital competitiveness in the region.
